Biography

Ian Camfield's dreams of pursuing a radio career began at the age of eight when, after writing in for a request, he was invited to the BBC Radio 1 studio to watch the legendary Tommy Vance present 'The Friday Rock Show'. Vance had never known of someone so young with such an appreciation for Heavy Metal. From that point Ian decided a radio career was the way forward.

He then moved on to Heart 106.2, London’s premier Female AC station, where he stayed for a year – learning the craft of radio by introducing Celine Dion songs, when secretly he had a desire to play a slightly more challenging genre of music!

Ian's big break came at Xfm, the UK's first Alternative station, where he became a respected music authority. While on Xfm Ian broke music from some of the biggest UK exports, including Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys and Muse. Ian also hosted shows for VH-1 and MTV2, made various appearances on music documentaries and a multitude of voiceovers. As well as hosting The Download Festival at Donnington, The Wireless Festival in Hyde Park, Sonisphere Festival in Knebworth, and The Metal Hammer Awards.
